Gun Control more Pro-Death Pradoxy?

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th century because of gun control: 56 million.
You won’t see this data on the U.S. evening news or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Of course, you say to yourself "it can't happen here, we are a moral nation". Consider this. There has been a similar number of defenseless fetuses exterminated since 1973.

Why people need assault rifles

I have been struck by the Second Amendment proponents inability to answer the question; "Why do you need an assault rifle?". The question is of course nothing more than a straw man fallacy. One could answer that we have a Bill of Rights not needs. The Constitution does not require that a need must exist before our rights are granted. Another possible answer would be that you need an assault rifle because your adversary has one - and if said adversary was Military or Law Enforcement, theirs would be fully-automatic.

I have yet a third way to answer the question that may be very useful.
If you examine needs, as defined by Maslow, safety is the second-most crucial after our basic needs (food, water, air and shelter). Safety needs include security, stability, and freedom from fear. If, when asked, people explained that they "need" an assault rifle because they feel they lack security and freedom from fear because we live under an ever-increasingly tyrannical Government. This fear and lack of security and safety is exacerbated because the Press has failed their First Amendment responsibilities of holding truth to power.

If we start to answer this question this way, maybe they will be happy to return to talking about our rights.
